Tools & techniques

The primary tool I used in the teardown was a screw driver. I used it to to lift the mesh front cover (this was rather difficult) and to remove the 9 screws which held the speaker together.

Interesting design elements

Responsive LED display

I think the designer added this feature so that the speaker can be be visually engaging. Seeing which colours are displayed with certain sounds and rhymes may make the listening experience more interesting.

Materials

Very rugged materials were used for the product and although not stated specifically, the design implied that the product is waterproof. The hard plastic, wire mesh and rubber gives the impression that it was built to be durable in outdoor environments and could take absorb a lot of impact if dropped from a considerable height.
