Background
Recently found linen is a really cool material，I wore a lot in this summer and found it look comfy&casual&organic and feel comfy. Thinking of combining this material & organic style with a light sounds pretty interesting:)
Plus, I do need a lamp for my night stand now;) (I mean what kind of stupid apartment gives you ceiling lights, and there are 2 of them? It’s either too bright or too dark at night)

it looks like you are proposing to use a lot of hard materials, and I’d like to steer you more towards using PRIMARILY SOFT materials. so if you want to make a stiff base and armature support for your lamp, that’s fine, but the fabric (and light diffused by it) should really be the star of the show.

Would be cool if you can make a base out of the tougher materials, Eva is using some for her toy. The middle “rod” could use some idea from monty to see how she made her toy stand with a soft wired stick inside. This lamp would have such homey and soft touch/look to it!
