Very Quick to the point tutorial, good production values and nice aesthetics. A good example of the fact that the a tutorial doesn’t need to be 10 mins long and should instead be based on the content provided. Though it could be said that this is perhaps more just a few tips than an actual tutorial it is still a useful precedent.

Banana Pudding: Stupidly Simple Snacks
I really enjoy Amy Cao’s Stupidly Simple Snacks video tutorials. They are short, simple, and sweet. The recipes are also simple.
How To Brew Beer
This is a nice little tutorial for the basics of brewing your own beer. Its really as easy as they make it look in this video, which I like for its simplicity, nice type treatments, detailed close-up shots and the song is not too bad…
Plus the couple that runs Brooklyn Brew Shop are great people if you ever run into them, and have made a kit for NYC sized kitchens.
French Braid
No distractions at the location, music, short talks, supporting text.
Wall Art using toilet paper cores
I saw this beautiful wall art on design sponge and wanted to share the post. The material is very affordable and you can’t tell that it is made of toilet paper cores at a glance. The instruction shows all the materials needed to make this object and used many photos to show the steps which is very helpful.
Drunken Drawing Robot Instruction
How to make a robot create some drawings for you!! I like the idea of a physical robot creating a drawing and watching the process which you can see in the video below. The step-by-step instruction with photos is always very helpful.
Icing a Messy Cake Tutorial inspiration

This tutorial is a lot of fun. It is not only easy to follow through reading the text or looking at the photos alone, but it also makes me want to try it just so I can bake a cake to eat! The pictures are really nice and the author is very descriptive.

How to make a fish tail braid

I wanted to post a hair tutorial because as a child, I always wanted long hair and wanted to experiment with it. I went with a fish tail because it’s a little more complicated than a french braid and one I have never tried on my own hair. This tutorial does a pretty good job of explaining and accompanying with pictures. I also like that it starts off with all the pictures and then goes into a detailed explanation of the steps.
Pour Over Coffee Tutorial
I wanted to post a low-fi tutorial as it seems there have been a lot of videos posted. For this tutorial which is from Blue Bottle Coffee’s website instructs you on how to properly use a ceramic cone for a melitta style serving.
I particularly like this for its simple line drawings which clearly picture the items you need to prepare this style of cup, and the corresponding handwritten text descriptors. The hand drawn style also fits well into the coffee shop aesthetic.
How to Glide (dancing)
There is something about the confidence that Matt speaks with that explains his routine that seem completely unrehearsed. That’s what differentiated him from the rest for me. His pace is calm, but consistent. He doesn’t stop and start, he is just talking. There are no cuts and no graphics, but in this case I think it only makes the video easier to watch.
I first saw gliding through “Les Twins”. Check them out on youtube if you want to see some amazing dancers. Enjoy!
