Water Surface is an atmosphere lamp that lights up just like making little waves on the water surface. It can be placed on your table, shelf, or bedside to create a harmonious atmosphere, bringing an absorbing experience to the user.
This idea can also be developed a lot of different water ripple effects. For example, the effect of the water texture will be different with the strength of the touch. Or it can also create an .interference of waves when two people touch it at the same time.
1)Water surface lamp. Touch the center area to make a little wave on the water surface. 2) Whac-A-Mole game. The lights pop up at random, points are scored by whacking each light as it appears. The faster the reaction the higher the score.
3) I want to make a bingo game for people to pass time in the elevator. The game board is hung in the elevator and people can light up the LEDs by touching it. The player who succeeds in placing three of their marks in a horizontal, vertical, or diagonal row is the winner. There will be a voice coming out “BINGO!” when someone wins the game.
This is a vampire bride costume that I designed for Halloween. I made a black wedding veil(hair pieces) and dressed it with 1o led randomly. Also, Â I wanted it to light up when it was shaken slightly, but it failed after testing with a vibration switch.
Materials
Led strip(ws2812b)
Vibration sensor switches(For testing)
Two fabric materials to make a black wedding veil(hair pieces)
A hairpin
A ghost toy decoration
Black wire
Hot glue
Sewing kit
Making process
Step 1: I made a hair piece of black wedding veil by using two different fabric and a hairpin.
Step 2: Cut 10 leds from the Neopixel strip and solder them one by one. Each led was tested once to ensure that there will be no improper connection problems.
Step 3: Glue the leds to the headwear with hot glue. I tested the vibration switch and found out that the vibration switch doesn’t work pretty well. The switch cannot detect the head slightly wobbling sensitively. It only work when shaking head wildly. So I removed the switch.
I brought two different black fabrics to make a hair piece of black wedding veil and attach a ghost toy on it. For the Arduino part, I planed to use 10 leds and a vibration switch. The color will be: rainbow(not shaking)- red(shaking=angry).
I plan to make a black wedding veil(hair pieces) and dress it with red led. I want it light up when slightly wobbling. It’s a vampire bride costume so that I also want to add two ghostes as decoration. In order to do this, I would need:
Vibration sensor switch(5 different types for testing, SW-18015P/SW-460D/SW-1820P/SW520D/SW200D)
Led strip(ws2812b)
Black wedding veil(hair pieces)
Ghost toys decoration
Wire
Battery
Hot glue
Felt fabric
I found a tutorial on how to use the vibration switch. Basically, it just a switch that triggered by shaking. The connection method is the same as a normal switch. The sensitivity and the pin of each vibration switch are different, so that I brought 5 different types to test which one is more suitable.
My three ideas are a mask with red tcross light in the middle, a mask with voice sensor getting brighter when you speak louder, and a bow hair tie with sensor that light up when shake it.
I want to make a bow hair tie that will shine when you look back or shake it. The material is a translucent fabric with ruffled folds, which is glossy. Can insert a light strip in the middle. But it is not sure what sensor to use to achieve this effect.
These are my three initial ideas. The first idea is a floating balloon lamp, the second one in the shape of a coin purse that lights up as soon as you turn on the light, and the last one is to change the light effect through the texture of the fabric.
Description of plush night light
My intention in designing this night light is to create a warm atmosphere for users by changing the lighting effects. It can be designed as a series of night lights of different sizes and placed on the bedside, desk, living room, etc. according to the needs of users.
small bedside lamp (hand size)
Cloth is a material with a certain degree of flexibility, which can change the lighting effect through some simple fabric modification. I made diamond-shaped folds by sewing. When the fabric is stretched, the folds are deformed and the light will be different.
I first tried to make diamond folds on the black fabric to make a small model, but I finally found that the dark fabric did not transmit light, which failed.
large bedside lamp
Then I used white cloth to make a larger one. The diamond-shaped folds give it a certain degree of elasticity, and the light will change when the folds are deformed. Since the fabric is very soft and can’t support the feature, I used cardboard to support it.
Lighting up
The final model replaced the cardboard with anti-collision foam, which can transmit light and have a certain degree of support.

The bedside lamp I designed for children comes in two sizes. The fabric is soft and skin-friendly, and children can place it as they want, whether it is opened, closed, or even down. There is no specific way to use it.
