Assignment 6 turned Smoke on the Water.

So after figuring out that there is no such thing as a quiet electrical pump, I started looking for different ways to fill my balloon with air.
The Balloon Clock will be pushing air into a balloon through a tube. A gear system will be used to push the down into the balloon, and the gears will be powered by a stepper motor.
I successfully got the stepper motor to work. At first I was using a stepper motor from Steve’s printer. But the motor was overheating the H bridge.
Currently I am preparing files to cut out the gears and pieces for the tube mechanism.
Hi, so since the main element of my project is illegal to purchase ( and possibly have) in the United States, I am still waiting on my signal jammer to be delivered by this smiling DHL man….
Until then I have developed how to activate my button with Arduino as well as how to hide the switch in a pair of Levi 514s’
Here is a diagram of my circuit!
Here is some of my progress.
Hey all!
Since we last saw each other I successfully printed the little guy and have focused my attention on the electronic interface. Even though my goal is a simple interface it has been challenging so far but I am headed in the right path.
I am going to be using my Flora and capacitive touch sensing to Play&Pause the music. I am currently soldering really small wires to the existing board very carefully.
The Flora board will sense when the body of the speaker is touched and it will send a signal to the pause button to activate.
So I’ve been doing test runs and prototype with the gears with laser cut parts.

Here’s a video:
I’ve been working on my final project and it is starting to take shape!
The main component of my final is the secret switch that turns on a motor (fan) and blows confetti into a vessel.
Check out this video for a still-in-progress test of the circuit. capacitive touch
cool, huh?

here’s a snapshot of my circuit in prototype mode, using an arduino UNO and breadboard.
After getting all of the components of the circuit to work, I drew an awesome color coded diagram to make sure that I could recreate it again tomorrow and the next day, and the day after that.
I would like for my final project to be on a Flora rather than an UNO to conserve space inside the housing of my piece.
Below I am switching over my pins from an UNO to a flora, good thing I had my handy diagram, it was getting a little hairy.
I also referenced the adafruit pinout diagram that shows you how to convert from an UNO to a flora (see below)

The final piece will include an element of surprise. The neutral tones of the overall form will contrast the bright, colorful confetti that is activated by the secret switch. Below is an assortment of materials that I am playing around with. The confetti would be hidden until the big reveal.
My project is an alarm clock that uses a popping balloon as an alarm. The clock will use Arduino and probably programming to control the air flow that will pop the balloon. Here is an example of a project using some of the same components I need to use.
The clock will be able to show time as a normal clock, but when the alarm goes off it will being a popping balloon instead of an alarm sound.
At first, as Lusha knows a creative invention called “makey makey” for a long time. She wanted to use the makey makey to make a virtual keyboard with mat.
For example, people can use the foot to tap the message and send to other people secretly, without any people knows in the meeting setting.
Or student can use them in the classroom, they can send some text to their friends to complain when they think the class is so boring.
And Becky let her to consider about which situation is the best after the meeting. After discussing with her teammate-May, they decided to choose the classroom as their object.
The following cartoon can show when our user`s condition very well~
Now, we need to choose what thing can be used for this project. As makey makey can only be use with the conductive things. Shoes can`t be conduct! Unless bare foot.
As Becky suggest to use the capacitive or resistive sensing pad that acts as a keyboard for discreet use in a classroom. After searching the information, we think capcitive is better!
Make an oversize plush game controller that actually works! Use conductive fabric and a Flora board to stitch up a capacitive touch sensing circuit. The controller acts like a computer keyboard, allowing you to play all your favorite old school games on emulator sites online.
Here is the example,

We need to figure out the specific tasks to let our project more interesting!
